Our Stars really do shine

All our stars are offered the opportunity throughout the year to explore and learn new skills in Comedy, Drama, Musical Theatre, Film and Television, Magic, Technical Theatre and Puppetry. We also feature specially adapted confidence building group theatre games into every session to help children feel relaxed and ready to shine. These games are structured to promote self-esteem, team work, communication skills, confidence and the use of imagination to help unlock the tools needed for convincing drama pieces. We encourage children to discover and embrace their inner talents whilst having a wider knowledge of the Theatre and Television industries both on the stage and behind the scenes. Children will have access to a wealth of knowledge and experience through our dedicated team as well as gaining hands on experience in many aspects of technical theatre and mini film production.

Shining Stars – Age 4 – 9

Stars aged four to nine are introduced to the performing arts through singing, dancing and acting classes as well as being encouraged to discover their inner talents and confidence. Shinning Stars will develop their singing and musical skills and combine them with movement, touch and expression. They will learn new skills in rhythm and musical timing from early years though to more complex pieces learning to orchestrate music in a group. During their drama sessions they will explore all the different areas of drama and performance from scripted and directed drama and musical pieces to monologues, mime and improvisation. They will start to think about emotion within acting and link real life to their pieces of drama.

Stage Stars – Age 9 – 16

Stars aged nine to sixteen will have the opportunity to write, choreograph, direct and produce their own work from concept to performance including technical and production aspects whilst our professional team are on hand at all times to offer encouragement and support. They will work on larger Film, Television and Musical Theatre projects and will edit and produce their own music and films. They will look at emotion and how to use it correctly within their drama pieces and will begin to use more varied performance spaces and formats. Our Stage Stars really have the opportunity to discover character in greater detail and will work closely with the tutors on understanding and adapting their Drama work to new professional levels. We will teach our Stars a range of Musical Theatre, vocal and dance techniques giving them the ability to pass seamlessly from dialogue, dance and into song.

Theatre Stars – Age 4 – 16

Theatre Stars will explore the exciting and mesmerising world of Musical Theatre. We will learn and perform musical numbers and put together shows whilst appreciating what production goes into creating a musical or theatre piece. Theatre Stars will work on projects throughout a term but as Summer 2018 gets closer we will begin working on our brand new theatre show which will be performed live on the big stage! Friends and family will be able to book tickets for the big event later on in the year. We will teach the children to draw on their own emotions and experiences in life in order unlock and portray many demanding roles on stage whilst keeping the sessions exciting and fresh. If you love musicals and love the theatre then this is the right choice for you!
